Case Study II: My Travel Medic

Introduction

This is an Android application to enable doctor consultation for a traveler easy.  There were two apps we had to develop, one for the patient and another for the doctor. Both the apps use the same data, but with different UI interface.

Technical Approach And Solution

There was already an API available for data integration that was used by an iOS app. We had to create the UI for Android similar to iOS app. The UI design was provided by the customer. The main challenge was to imitate the iOS app in all respect in terms of UI and app functionality. Data rendering to various UI elements and third party service integration for video calling and app notifications involved a great deal of testing and design.

Summary

Both the Doctor and Patient apps were able to talk to each other using the same API. A patient can schedule doctor’s appointment seamlessly using the patient app, while the doctor can review the appointment.
